Model family
Is Wan AI uncensored? We tested every Wan video version
Short answer
Mostly yes. Standard Wan 3.0 delivered all 51 of its test runs, and so did Wan 3.0 Pro, Wan 3.0 Pro Prime and Wan 2.6 Flash. The clear exception is the standard Wan 2.2 model, which refused half of its runs. The Spicy builds of Wan 3.0 also delivered everything, but scored far lower in the blind quality test than the standard model, which makes the standard Wan 3.0 the better pick for most work.
- 18 versions tested
- 7 delivered every run at all five levels
- 485 test runs counted

A dash means that level has not been tested yet. Softened runs returned something milder than requested; refused runs returned nothing. Data as of 2026-11-03; see how we test.
Wan 3.0: the standard model already delivers
The usual reason to choose a Spicy build is that the standard model filters. With Wan 3.0 that is not the case in our data: the standard model delivered every run at all five levels, and so did Wan 3.0 Pro and Pro Prime. The Wan 3.0 Spicy and Prime Spicy builds matched that range but scored 46.6 and 50.9 in the blind test, against 70.9 for standard Wan 3.0. You give up quality and gain nothing in range.
Wan 3.0 Prime is the one 3.0 variant that softened anything: 3 of its 42 runs came back milder than requested.
Wan 2.2: where the standard model filters
Standard Wan 2.2 is the only Wan model in the data that refused a large share of its runs: 13 delivered, 6 softened and 19 refused out of 38. The Wan 2.2 Spicy build delivered 13 of 19 and softened the rest without a single refusal, and the Wan 2.2 LoRA build delivered 31 of 43. If you are tied to the 2.2 generation for its LoRA library, use one of those builds rather than the standard model.
Picking a Wan version
For most projects, standard Wan 3.0 is the answer: text, image or reference input, clip extension, and a top-tier blind-test score. Wan 2.6 Flash is the cheapest Wan that delivered every run, at a lower per-second price, but it needs a start image. Wan 3.0 Pro trades a higher price for the best blind-test score in the family.
A few older entries, including standard Wan 2.6 and the Wan 2.1 LoRA build, have levels we have not tested yet, so their scores are not comparable with the rest. The table marks untested levels with a dash.
